Interview with Christopher

How did you first hear of Kroschu?

I found a job advertisement on XING.

What made you pick Kroschu as an employer?

The varied and exciting job description appealed to me, and I still think it’s great. What convinced me most was the idea of working in the area of Industry 4.0/Smart Factory and the challenging task of automating the production of cable sets. With my prior knowledge, I knew that I have what it takes to make a difference in this position.

When did you join Kroschu?

On 1 April 2023.

What are your tasks at Kroschu? What are you working on right now?

I work in the production concepts and innovation department at the Abensberg site. Our multidisciplinary team of experts mainly works on solutions for the automatic production of cable sets. It is a really exciting but equally complex task, one that has become increasingly important due to rising demands from our customers in the world of automotive engineering, coupled with the opportunities presented by new (manufacturing) technologies. Our goal is to develop an innovative production method. To do so, we are working closely with the process specialists at Kroschu as well as our customers.

What has been your most exciting project at Kroschu so far?

For me it is the automation cooperation with a premium OEM. We are working with a customer to develop a (fully) automatic production line for a new cable set family. It has given me entirely new insights and taught me a great deal.

What drives you to develop new concepts for the future?

I am a quintessential tekkie and also worked for several years in mechanical engineering, so I am fascinated by the idea of developing holistic production concepts.

How will Kroschu evolve going forward? What will wiring systems look like in future?

Creating adaptable products (wiring systems) is a crucial step on the road to automatic production. First and foremost, the wiring systems need to become slimmer – zonal architecture is the relevant buzzword – and we must also reduce component variance within the wiring sets themselves.

Which benefits do you appreciate especially?

The canteen.
